Carara National Park & Crocodile watching


A day trip to our closest national park, we will explore the primary rainforest which is home to the largest population of Scarlet Macaws in the world. A guided hike will give us lots of opportunities to spot birds and reptiles, to learn about medicinal plants and finally we will make a spot at the Tarcoles bridge, from which you can spot our famous American Crocodiles.


Picnic at a Secret Beach

INCLUDED ACTIVITY - 25 Minutes Travel time

During your stay we will pack up a gourmet picnic and head for our favourite place, Playa Mantas, for a day of sunning and relaxing under the palm and almond trees and for a float in the calm, clean waters. We often see Scarlet Macaws and other wildlife here. Snorkeling is sometimes available when the visibility is good. You won't want to leave!


Manuel Antonio National Park & Rainmaker

Special ACTIVITY - 90 MINUTES Travel time

A day trip to the famous Manuel Antonio National Park is included with some retreats. Here, where the jungle meets perfect white sand beaches you will commune with capuchin and howler monkeys, sloths, deer, agoutis, coatis and many more examples of Costa Rica's biodiversity. Stop at the Rainmaker reserve to walk the hanging bridges and swim in a waterfall! Typical Costa Rican lunch and water included.


Rainforest Hike 

Included activity - 5 minutes travel time

In the south end of Jacó we have a little secret trail called Miro's Mountain. This guided, primary rainforest hike, will take you high above the town and beach for stunning views of the Pacific. Along the way you may encounter the brightly coloured poison dart frogs and observe the amazing leaf-cutter ants in action. Sometimes capuchin monkeys are around this area. The hike takes you along a beautifully artisan-carved wall and up to a look-out with some cool graffiti and more amazing views.


Sunset at the Amphitheatre

INCLUDED ACTIVITY - 20 Minutes Travel time

We will spend one of our last evenings watching the sunset from the famous amphitheatre at Villa Caletas. This unobstructed view of the sun setting over the ocean from a perch high in the mountains is the perfect place to enjoy a fancy drink and take in the last rays of the day. It is truly heavenly!


Monteverde Cloud Forest 

Special ACTIVITY - 3 Hours Travel time

Experience the magic of the cloud forest in Monteverde and search through the jungle to spot the elusive Quezel! This special place is unique in Costa Rica for the flora and fauna found here. You'll be charmed by this quaint town and the amazing biodiversity available here. In Santa Elena there are many things to see and do: Cloud Forests, Chocolate Tours, Hummingbird Gallery and a visit the orchid museum and learn about Costa Rica's national flower! Lunch included.
